In May 2018 Cheeky Monkeys Day Nursery were proud to receive Ofsted´s "Outstanding" grade for the third time. (Ofsted report). This is a rare accolade presented to excellent nurseries that provide extraordinary care and provision to children and parents. (Quotes from our Ofsted report)

In February 2010 Cheeky Monkeys Day Nursery were the proud recipients of the Early Years Star award. To quote...

Head and shoulders above others in their field, always going the extra mile, demonstrating a commitment, passion and selflessness in their work with children.

In June 2023 Cheeky Monkeys were awarded yet another accolade; we were honoured to recieve Millie's Mark, Cheeky monkeys recieved Millies Mark the gold standard in paediatric first aid.

We would now like to extend our vision for excellence further and embark on a new Accreditation called ‘The Curiosity Approach’. Cheeky monkeys recieved Millies Mark The Curiosity Approach aims to generate a climate of ‘thinkers, doers and investigators’, placing the child at the heart of their own development and education. Everyday items are used to encourage children’s natural curiosity and eagerness to explore and create which is driven by active-learning and critical thinking.

Warm, Safe Surroundings

We offer a modern, spacious and well equipped nursery in a single storey building. Security is extremely important to us and every step has been taken to protect your child whilst in our care.

We believe that a child´s early years should be nurtured and treasured within warm safe surroundings. Our education is delivered through play as we believe that the more fun a child has the more they will learn.

A day in the life

Forest School

Children learn best from first hand experiences so exploring, playing and learning using a range of activities (both designed by the leader and instigated by the children themselves) is what forest school is all about. Building a sense of independence, high self esteem and team work are important parts of forest school, but health and safety considerations are always of paramount importance.

Sensory Room

The Sensory room is a tranquil place for the children to spend some quiet time. It can be used to help the children explore their different senses; Sight, Smell, Sound, Touch. It has soft comfortable cushions to sit or lie on; soft, calming music and wind chimes to listen to; colourful lights, light reflectors and mirrors too. As well as hard, soft and textured objects to touch and scented objects to smell.
